The Environmental Placement Programme (EPP) supports education, innovation and business skills in accordance with the Scottish Government’s strategic objectives, a “SMARTER, GREENER Scotland.”

EPP aligns closely to the aims of the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Adaptation Framework and the Climate Change Act. As a Green Ambassador, students and graduates currently on an EPP Placement will actively work to facilitate and promote collaboration for change.

Green Ambassadors will champion the Programme and promote it to other students, graduates and organisations. We hope that hearing the experiences of students and graduates on the programme will encourage others to either apply for a placement or consider hosting one. Bright Green Business strives to nurture the skills and talent of young people across Scotland. Green Ambassadors will join us in that journey.

What is involved?
A Green Ambassador will volunteer their time to take part in some of the following activities, during and after your placement where possible. They will be asked to update Bright Green Placements on the activity you have undertaken. Activities include:

  • Creating blog posts on their experience for the website and social media;
  • Attending careers fairs with Bright Green Placements to talk to students about their experience;
  • Attending Bright Green Placements presentations to share their experience;
  • Contacting their University Careers Department to share their experience and encourage other students to consider an EPP placement;
  • Promoting the Programme to suitable organisations, where appropriate.

Green Ambassadors will be provided with a certificate, demonstrating their commitment to and motivation to building a sustainable future in Scotland.
