Hydrasun event

Managing your Business’ Environmental Impact

October 9, 2013

The Bright Green Business Network joined up with two of our Aberdeen based network members, Hydrasun and One stop Waste, on Wednesday 2nd October to run an event centred on ‘Managing your Business’ Environmental Impact.’

At this event guests heard from Louise Evison, Project Manager at Bright Green Business who discussed how our company can help businesses with their environmental agenda in such areas as our Green Ticks EMS scheme and Bright Green Placements which include the Environmental Placement Programme (EPP).

Next, Craig Donoghue from One Stop Waste presented on ‘Zero Waste made easy’ and how the company can support businesses to comply with the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012. Alex Reid from Hydrasun then discussed how the company began to look at their waste and their waste reduction journey which was initialised from an EPP Placement Alex undertook.

Finally, Fiona McCann from the Scottish Chambers of Commerce spoke about the GADGET programme which aims to improve the links between businesses and universities working in the sphere of environmental and energy solutions.

This event offered an excellent opportunity to view One Stop Waste’s materials recycling facility which handles material such as paper, plastic, cans, food and green waste. Guests were also able to view Hydrasun’s waste facilities which included their recycling system.

Feedback from the event found that 100% of respondents wanted more information on the Bright Green Business Network and the same percentage would be keen to attend more events. Respondents found this event ‘extremely insightful and helpful’ and ‘very informative.’
